Which forms this applies to
The figures on this page come from the help page of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission’s online application system, which Teletalk runs. Most other government recruitments in Bangladesh also take applications through Teletalk, each on its own sub-site, and their help pages usually state the same photo and signature sizes. Before you upload, open the help or instruction page of the portal you are applying on and confirm that its figures match; if they differ, use the resizer on the home page and type that portal’s limit.
Teletalk portals also offer a Photo/Signature Validator that checks the pixel size and file size before you upload. A file from this page should pass it: the photo is saved at exactly 300 × 300 pixels and the signature at exactly 300 × 80 pixels, each under its limit.
The photograph
The help page asks for a recent photo taken with a digital camera or scanned from a good quality print, in colour. It lists what is refused: black and white, monochrome or grayscale pictures, a face too close or too far away, a blurred picture, one that is too light or too dark, an obscured face, an uncropped picture, or any image that is not a photograph.
The tool on this page makes the crop for you. Drag the picture so that your head and shoulders fill the square frame with a little space above the head, then download. The file is exactly 300 × 300 pixels and under 100 KB, so the only things left to get right are the ones a tool cannot fix: a plain background, even light and a recent picture.
The signature
Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen, then photograph the signature from directly above in good light, or scan it. Choose that picture under “Signature” above. The frame is 300 × 80, which is wide and short, so drag and zoom until the signature fills the box with a small margin on each side. The file is saved at exactly 300 × 80 pixels and under 60 KB.
The help page says the signature must be the applicant’s own and that the signature on the admit card is compared with the attendance sheet at the examination, so sign the way you normally do.
Questions about the Teletalk upload
- What is the photo size for a Teletalk job application?
- The BPSC help page on Teletalk says the photo must be 300 × 300 pixels (width by height) with a file size of less than 100 KB, in colour.
- What is the signature size for Teletalk?
- The same page says the signature must be 300 × 80 pixels (width by height) and the scanned image must not be more than 60 KB.
- Does the tool make the picture exactly 300 × 300 pixels?
- Yes. When a form states an exact pixel size, the file is saved at exactly that size and only the JPG quality is adjusted to stay under the KB limit. The size is shown under the preview before you download.
- Which file format should I use?
- The help page does not name a format. The files from this page are JPG, which every Teletalk upload form accepts and which gives the smallest file for a photograph.
- My signature photo is on a lined or coloured page. Will it work?
- It will fit the size, but a clean white background scans and prints better and is what the examiners expect. Sign again on plain white paper if you can.
