When FPSC asks for the picture
The picture is uploaded in Step 2 of the online application, after the fee has been deposited and the system has confirmed the payment against your CNIC. Keep the resized file ready before you start Step 2.
The guidelines give a file size and a format. They do not give a width and height in pixels or centimetres. Use normal passport style framing: head and shoulders, facing the camera, plain background.
What “informal picture” means in practice
FPSC twice warns against informal pictures, without defining the term. A selfie, a face cropped out of a group photo, a picture with sunglasses or a cap, or a photo taken at an event is likely to be treated as informal. Use a photo taken against a plain wall or a studio passport photo.
The guidelines do not mention a separate signature upload. The passport size picture is the only image they describe.
Questions about the FPSC upload
- What is the picture size for the FPSC online application?
- FPSC’s guidelines say the picture must be in JPG or JPEG format and less than 30 KB. They do not state pixel dimensions.
- Does FPSC accept PNG pictures?
- No. The guidelines name JPG and JPEG only. This tool always saves a JPG file.
- Do I need to upload a signature on the FPSC form?
- The FPSC guidelines for online application do not mention a signature upload. Only the passport size picture is described.
- Why is the file from this tool a little below 30 KB?
- FPSC says “less than 30 KB”, so the tool stops a little below the limit. That way the file passes whether the portal counts a KB as 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
